On Saturday morning, Youssef Alziadana from Rahat was at work in Holit together with his 3 children. They were kidnapped to Gaza. After 55 days, Bilal and Aisha were released as part of the Hostage Deal. Cousin Salem and his children, who were also in the barn, were saved. On January 8th 2025 IDF forces rescued the body of Youssef and his son Hamza

After Youssef and his children finish milking the cows in the kibbutz's barn, alarms sound. They run to the shelter and wait for a break. Salem and his small children try to take shelter at the other end of the barn.
Explosion noises are heard around the barn and the sounds of gunfire are getting closer and closer.
Terrorists burst into the barn and seize the members of the Alziadana family and two workers from Thailand: Pataniot Tunaskari and Awat Surayasi. Youssef and Hamza speak to them in Arabic, but they kidnap the six and take them towards the exit of the kibbutz.
The terrorists set fire to the Thai workers' living structure adjacent to the barn and set fire to the hay stacks that were in the barn. They loot a lot of equipment and leave behind extensive destruction.
The terrorists march Youssef and his children up to the border and then cover their eyes as soon as they cross the fence.
Hamas circulates documentation showing Bilal and Hamza lying on the floor at the moment of the kidnapping. Members of the extended Alziadana family try to assist, but fail to reach the kibbutz. At this time, Youssef and his children are already arriving in the Gaza Strip.
Two looters find Salem and his children who are in a barn; they threaten to kidnap them. After a conversation between them, the looters take Salem's car keys and his wallet and leave the place.
Salem and his children manage to reach soldiers who are at the gates of the kibbutz.
Salem and his children are transferred to Kibbutz Gvulot.
Family members arrive to bring Salem and his children to their home in Rahat.
After being defined as kidnapped, the extended Alziadana family calls for the return of the four family members.

After 53 days in captivity, Pataniot Tunaskari and Awat Soriasri are freed from Hamas captivity as part of the fifth stage of the Hostage deal.
After 55 days in captivity, Aisha and Bilal are freed as part of the seventh stage of the Hostage Deal. Yousef and Hamza remain in Hamas captivity.
