The morning of Saturday began at the Guri family home with the piercing sound of red alerts in their town. The family included parents Zehava and Avinadav, their 30-year-old son Ariel, a university student, and his wife Hadar from Moshav Mivtahim, who had joined them for Shabbat. Their younger son, 22-year-old Roy, a combat soldier in the IDF's Golani Brigade, had returned home from his base without his weapon.

The family heard gunshots outside the house. Moments later, Roy rushed out to see what was happening. Ariel, a former officer at the Israeli Prisons Services, grabbed his pistol and moved toward the source of the gunfire. Roy followed him, and Hadar ran after them, urging Ariel to return home.

Hadar fled into a nearby alley, where a bullet struck her foot, though she didn’t notice the injury at first. She then entered a random house on Pri Megadim Street and informed the couple living there about the terrorist raid in town. They pointed out that she was wounded. The woman of the house called emergency services and passed the call to Hadar, who had left her phone behind. Hadar asked if an ambulance could be sent to the location where her husband, Ariel was, but they explained it wasn’t possible due to the battles taking place in the area. She then called her brother, who instructed her how to bandage her wound with a tourniquet.

Hadar and the couple in the house where she was hiding heard terrorists outside, along with the sound of gunfire. Suddenly, they heard the voices of Israeli police forces nearby. Hadar called out to them through a window and told them she was injured. Amid a gunfight raging close by, two police officers evacuated her from the apartment. She pleaded with them to get to Ariel, but they explained it wasn’t possible because terrorists were still in the area.

A civilian in the area volunteered to evacuate Hadar and another injured person to Soroka Hospital. Once there, Hadar tried to find out if there were any updates on Ariel and Roy’s situation. She called their parents to inform them of the events, and they arrived at the hospital, desperately seeking news about their sons.

Hadar received first aid treatment, but due to the hospital's overwhelming rush, she was not admitted. She then decided to go to her mother's house in Ashdod, where she has stayed since.
