The Travelers' Minibus

13 are murdered on the way to a day trip

The Travelers' Minibus

A minibus with 15 citizens traveling had to stop in Sderot because of a flat tire. Then, the Hamas offensive began and they found themselves locked out of the shelter. While seeking shelter from the rocket fire, they were spotted by terrorists who shot them at close range and even videotaped the killing. Only two civilians survived.

The passengers continue to be locked out of the shelter while the driver tries to change a wheel. Some travelers are phoning their families to make sure everything is OK. When they realize that this is a major event, some inform the families that the trip is canceled so that they can return home as soon as possible.

A white van with about ten terrorists enters the city from the junction of Shaar HaNegev to the Sapirim industrial area and from there, they advance to the industrial area of Sderot - on a path that was later called the “Axis of Death”. On their way they shoot and slaughter everything in their way.

The terrorists encounter the group still standing next and behind the shelter. They shoot the members of the group and murder 13 of them with machine guns and firearms. The driver Abu Taha hides behind the shelter, a terrorist sees him along with another female passenger and shoots at them. Abu Taha recounted those moments: “They shot them all and dead-checked them. I hid with someone else behind the shelter, they shot her. I pretended to be dead, I didn't move”.
