רון שמר - דף הנצחה

רון שמר הי״ד בן סיגל ואורן. 
נולד בי״א ניסן התש״ס, 16.04.2000.
אח בכור לברי. 
נולד וגדל בלוד. 

מלאך מבפנים ומבחוץ 😇 

רון היה צעיר מבטיח, ערכי ואידיאליסט. 
כבר בגיל 17 היה ״שגריר צעיר״ וייצג את העיר לוד ואת מדינת ישראל באו"ם.  

לאחר סיום לימודיו התגייס לצבא, שם שימש כעוזר מ"פ בגדוד לוחמי המעברים של המשטרה הצבאית. 
לקראת סוף שירותו הצבאי נדבק בחיידק בלב, המשיך לשרת עד שהוכר כנכה צה"ל ושוחרר.

בתקופת הקורונה, עבד רון במעבדת חברת My Heritage. 
חבריו למעבדה סיפרו כי "רון היה מנהיג וחבר אמיתי, אדיב, אמפתי, חרוץ, תמיד התנדב ראשון לקחת על עצמו משימות נוספות ולעזור לאחרים". 
בעקבות עבודתו במעבדה, רון תכנן ללמוד הנדסה גנטית ולמצוא תרופה למחלות חשוכות מרפא.

לאחר תקופת הקורונה נסע רון לקאמפ פרלמן בפנסילבניה, ארצות הברית, וחנך נוער יהודי במשך שלושה חודשים. 

הספורט היה חלק משמעותי בחייו. 
בכל הזדמנות עסק בספורט כזה או אחר. 
הוא שיחק כדורגל, התאמן בקפוארה, התאמן באגרוף תאילנדי, גלש בים, שיחק טניס, הרים משקולות ושיחק פוצ'יוולי - כדורגל חופים.

רון אהב מאוד בעלי חיים ובמיוחד כלבים והכי הרבה את הפיטבול של המשפחה, טייסון. 

הצניעות שלו והטוב שלו פשוט מגנטו אליו אנשים. 
ילד-גבר שאהב את העולם ודאג לשמור עליו.
הוא דאג כל הזמן להזכיר לכולם כמה העולם יפה ומושלם. 
רון אהב לטייל עם המשפחה, לשבת עם חברים כל שישי מול השקיעות ולצלם נופים יפים. 
רון טייל ביותר מ-50 מדינות בעולם ובכל פעם שהיה חוזר לארץ, היה מחבר בין החברים שהכיר בעולם עם החברים מהבית. 

רון היה בחור צעיר, חכם, שנון ומצחיק, שכל עתידו היה לפניו.
"ואהבת לרעך כמוך" היה לו לכלל בחיים. אפילו ברגעיו האחרונים בחיים חשב איך להציל אחרים ולא את עצמו.

חברים שניצלו ושהיו עם רון ברגע שהתחילו האזעקות, סיפרו שלרון היתה אפשרות לחזור איתם הביתה, אך שהוא בחר לחזור לשטח המסיבה ולחפש את החברים הנוספים שהגיע איתם. 
למרות ניסיונותיהם הרבים לשכנע אותו להציל את עצמו, רון סירב, בטענה שהוא לא משאיר חברים מאחור. הוא אמר להם לנסוע ושהוא יגיע אחריהם.
רון התחיל לחפש את חבריו, דן אריאל ועומר בן נון. כשמצא אותם, נסע יחד איתם לחפש מיגונית כדי להסתתר. כשהגיעו למיגונית בצומת גמא מערב נכנסו לתוכה וחיכו עד שיסתיימו האזעקות והטילים.

שעה 06:39 
בזמן שהיו במיגונית נשמעו מבחוץ קולות בערבית. רון אמר לחבריו להסתתר מאחוריו וכשמישהו ייכנס למיגונית הוא יסתער עליו. 
המחבלים זרקו מבחוץ שלושה רימונים לתוך המיגונית. 
דן ועומר נפצעו ונפלו על הרצפה. המחבלים נכנסו למיגונית וחטפו את רון. עומר, היחיד ששרד, סיפר שכאשר רון נחטף הוא שמע את רון מתעמת ונלחם עם המחבלים בחוץ.  
רון נחשב חטוף לכאורה, ונמצא כשבוע לאחר מכן ירוי בראשו, כ-50 מטר מאחורי המיגונית.  

רון הובא למנוחות ב-13/10/23 בבית העלמין החדש בעיר הולדתו לוד.
אלפים ליוו אותו בדרכו האחרונה. 

רון נהג לומר: אפילו הלילה האפל ביותר יסתיים והשמש תזרח.
"בחיוך כובש נכנסת ללב, אתה עכשיו בגן עדן ולנו נשאר כאב" - זה המשפט שנחקק על קברו.

An angel inside and out 😇
Ron was a promising, idealistic and value-driven young man.
At just 17, he became a “Young Ambassador”, representing the city of Lod and the State of Israel at the United Nations. 
After finishing high school, he enlisted in the army, serving as the assistant company commander in the Military Police’s Border Crossing Combat Unit. Towards the end of his service, Ron contracted a heart infection but continued serving until he was recognized as a disabled IDF veteran and released.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ron worked at the My Heritage laboratory. His colleagues described him as “a true leader and friend — kind, empathetic, hardworking, always the first to volunteer for additional tasks and help others.” Inspired by his work at the lab, Ron planned to study genetic engineering and find cures for incurable diseases.
After the pandemic, Ron traveled to Camp Perlman in Pennsylvania, USA, where he mentored Jewish youth for three months.
Sports played a significant role in Ron’s life. He practiced soccer, Capoeira, Muay Thai, surfing, tennis, weightlifting and beach soccer .
Ron had a deep love for animals, especially dogs, — most of all, the family’s pit bull, Tyson.
His modesty and kindness attracted people to him. He was a brave young man who loved the world and made sure to protect it, always reminding everyone how beautiful and perfect the world is. 
Ron loved traveling with his family, sitting with friends at sunset every Friday, and capturing beautiful landscapes with his camera. He visited over 50 countries and always connected the friends he met abroad with his friends from home.
Ron was a young, smart, clever, and funny guy who had his entire future ahead of him. "And you shall love your neighbor as yourself" was a rule in his life. Even in his last moments of life, he thought about how to save others and not himself.

Friends who survived and were with Ron when the rocket sirens started said Ron had the option to leave with them — but he chose to go back into the party area to search for his other friends. 
Despite their desperate attempts to convince him to save himself, Ron refused, saying he would never leave his friends behind. He told them to drive away and that he would meet them later.
Ron began searching for his friends Dan Ariel and Omer Ben Nun. When he found them, they drove together looking for shelter. They reached a bomb shelter at Gama West Junction and waited inside until the rocket fire stopped.

While they were inside, they heard voices speaking Arabic outside. Ron told his friends to hide behind him, saying if anyone entered, he would Attack them. 
The terrorists threw three grenades into the shelter. Dan and Omer were injured and collapsed on the floor. The terrorists then entered the shelter and kidnapped Ron.
Omer, the only survivor, later recounted that he heard Ron fighting with the terrorists outside. 
Ron was believed to have been taken hostage, but his body was found a week later - shot in the head — about 50 meters behind the shelter. 
Ron was laid to rest on October 13th, 2023, at the new cemetery in his hometown of Lod. Thousands accompanied him on his final journey. 
Ron used to say: Live each day like it's your last
