Peleg Salem
Major Peleg Salem, 31, a logistics officer for the 460th Brigade, woke up to the sound of the alarms going off. He and his wife, Yuval, were at home along with one-and-a-half-year-old Alma. Shortly after they began to hear gunshots in the vicinity of Yakhini, Peleg took up arms and set out to defend the Moshav. He was killed around 8 p.m.

Peleg, Yuval and Alma wake up to the sounds of sirens and interceptions from the direction of Sderot. Peleg suspects this is an unusual event
Peleg and Yuval hear the gunfire of terrorists penetrating from the main entrance gate of the Moshav. Peleg arms himself with a gun and goes out to scout outside the house. He asks Yuval not to come out. Yuval tells him that he is only with a gun and that it sounds like the terrorists are numerous and armed. She reminds him that he has four daughters. Peleg replies: 'I can't sit back'
Peleg's friend asks about his well-being because he heard that there were terrorists at the Yachini intersection. As soon as Peleg sees the message he heads toward the entrance of the Moshav
Peleg runs about 300 meters towards the entrance gate of the moshav, where he encounteres the squad of terrorists. Before Peleg gets shot, Yuval hears the gunfire from Peleg's gun
Yuval waits at home with her daughter Alma, praying for Peleg’s return. All the while, she tries to contact him without success. She calls hospitals to check if he has arrived there and asks in the Moshav’s WhatsApp group if anyone has seen him
Yuval continues to search for Peleg. She updates her friend on what is happening and asks her to check in Soroka Hospital if he got there
After she fails to reach Peleg for hours, Yuval thinks he has been kidnapped. She decides to flee to her parent's house in Netanya
It has been released for publication that Major Peleg Salem was killed in a battle with terrorists in Yachini
