The rocket barrage towards the Gaza Envelope catches 13-year-old neighbour's son Ariel Zohar on his morning run.

Minutes after the salvoes, Ariel's mother Yasmin calls Ilan and asks for his help to get him to safety. Ilan leaves his family and goes out to him. In the process, he sends to the family WhatsApp group the national alert map.

Ilan rescues Ariel Zohar from the line of fire and drives him to his home, where he asks his wife Sharon to keep him and the girls in the safe room. This saved the life of the 13-year-old neighbor, whose entire family was murdered in their home's safe room.

Ilan says goodbye to Sharon and the girls and leaves the house. He's trying to get a military body to catch up on the situation. Ilan manages to to call the Fields neighborhood the Yamas force that sleeps in the kibbutz - but they do not make it in time to meet him. He also manages to call his deputy, Nissan de Kalo, and ask him to quickly get to the protected vehicle of the security squad.

Sharon, in what she describes as a gut feeling, rushes to lock the door of the house. She calls Ilan to inform him that the house is locked, and he replies to her: “I'm in a battle.” This is the last conversation between them.

Sharon sends Ilan a message that there are terrorists outside their house. The message is sent, but not read. After five minutes, Sharon sends him another message, writing to him that she and the girls need him. That message doesn't go through to Ilan, at all. Sharon writes to the family on their WhatsApp group and updates: “There are terrorists, lock everything up in the house quickly. They're by our house.”

Ilan fights alone in the Sadot neighborhood against dozens of terrorists, with only a gun - until he is shot dead. He manages to warn his neighbor who is sitting on the balcony, telling him to go inside the safe room with his family.

Sharon corresponded with Yasmin Zohar and informs her that her son Ariel is with them in the safe room, and that everything is fine with him.

After hours in the safe room without electricity and food, soldiers break into the Fiorentino family home to extract Sharon with the girls and Ariel. They tell Sharon that there is one body in the front entrance and another in the back entrance. Sharon arranges a bag for the evacuation - but the soldiers leave unexpectedly.

Sharon calls the chairman of the local emergency team, Rotem Katz. He updates her that fighters are arriving to evacuate them in a haste because there is a specific anti-tank fire alert on their house. The fighters arrive and they are evacuated to the neighboring Tivon family home.

At the Tivon family home, Sharon meets Beri Meyerovich, a member of the security squad who fought throughout the day along with Ilan's deputy, Nissan de Kalo. She tries to find out through him what Ilan's condition is, and he replies that Ilan doesn't answer them since 7:00.

Sharon is evacuated from the kibbutz area by bus with her three daughters.

Ilan's mother, Nurit, who was also evacuated from the kibbutz with her husband, tries to find out in the family WhatsApp group what Ilan's condition is. She writes: “What about Ilan?” and Sharon replies to her: “Nurit nobody knows. I believe he is alive!!!!!!!“
