Carmela and her granddaughter Noya, who is sleeping at her house in Kibbutz Nir Oz, wake up to the sound of sirens and bombs and enter the safe room. In those minutes, in the nearby Kibbutz Kissufim, the mother, Galit, enters the safe room with her partner Yinon and her little daughter Tamar, who stays asleep at home. Galit immediately realizes that this is an unusual barrage.
Under heavy rocket fire, Hamas Nukhba terrorists infiltrate the kibbutz from four different points; from the vineyard gate closest to the border, from the northern main gate, from the southern rear gate, and through a hole in the fence near the house of the Ravshatz (Military Ongoing Security Coordinator).
With incessant barrages in the background, Galit and Yinon family members check how everyone is doing in the shared WhatsApp group. Galit informs that she is in the safe room in Kissufim with Tamar and Yinon, while her older daughter Noya is in Nir Oz with her grandmother. Noya sends a photo of her from inside the safe room and writes: “I slept at Grandma's, omg... I'm in the safe room.” About 20 minutes later, she writes: “Grandma says hi.”

Galit contacts first only her mother, Carmela, so as not to frighten Noya. In the first hours of the attack Carmela answers her with optimism and humor. Galit urges her to remain locked up with Noya in the safe room because there is infiltration of terrorists into the surrounding Gaza Envelope. At 08:00 Carmela describes that Noya is keeping her cool and that they are as fine as possible, although the windows of her house have been smashed. In the Dan family group she writes an hour later that she has no idea what's going on outside: 'We only worry to be locked in'.
Galit starts to correspond with her daughter Noya as well. Noya tells her that she is afraid because windows have broken in the house: “Mom, there was now a big scary boom at the door... omg. And all the windows in Grandma's house are broken, in the entrance. Because there was another boom, there are a lot of windows that are broken”.
Carmela updates on the Dan family's Whatsapp group that she hears a gunfight and shouting outside the safe room.
Carmela leaves the safe room for a moment to bring her and Noya essentials and discovers that her house has been ransacked. She quickly goes back inside and writes to Galit: “They came into my house, looted, everything is upside down and messy. You will get to see photos of the house.”
Terrorists break into the safe room and murder Carmela and Noya in the doorway of the room. They set fire to the house, which burns down almost completely. Galit constantly continues to send messages to her mother and tries to get a signal of life from her. A few days later, the fighter who evacuates the bodies will tell that he found them hugged, with a large blood stain next to them.
Hamas terrorists are damaging the electricity and cellular infrastructure in Kissufim, and the mobile network in the kibbutz falls. The family is constantly trying to locate Galit, Noya and Carmela - but there is no answer.
The Dan family is trying to find out the situation of Carmela and Noya in Nir Oz and Galit in Kissufim. At 19:13, Hadas Calderon, the sister of Galit, who is herself locked in the safe room in Nir Oz, informs that her mother Carmela and her two children, who were staying with their father Ofer, do not answer her: “Shoah, Yom Kippur 2. My children, Ofer and Mom do not answer”.
When the cellular network in Kissufim returns, Galit updates her family that they are being rescued from the safe room and that she has no contact with her mother and Noya.
When she is on the bus evacuated from Kissufim to the Dead Sea, Galit contacts her sister Hadas, who updates her on the massacre that took place in Kibbutz Nir Oz. Galit tries to find out with her what happened to their mother and Noya. Hadas tells her that they were probably kidnapped: “I sent people to their house. It's burnt out and they are not there.” Galit tries to stay calm because her little daughter Tamar sits next to her.
Together with her family, Galit embarks on a fight for the return of her daughter Noya and her mother Carmela, when it is believed that they have been kidnapped to Gaza. She conducts interviews in the media, in the country and abroad, and tries to leverage the fact that they have French citizenship. The further family struggle focuses on the release of the kidnapped nephew and niece, Hadas Calderon's children, 16-year-old Sahar and 11-year-old Erez, as well as the release of their father who was kidnapped with them, Ofer Calderon.

After the process of identifying the bodies, Galit gets informed that her daughter Noya and her mother Carmela were murdered in the safe room in Nir Oz.
Noya and her grandmother Carmela are buried side by side in Kibbutz Ein HaShofet, Carmela's birthplace, after burial was not made possible in Kibbutz Nir Oz. The Shiva took place at a hotel in the Dead Sea to which the family had been evacuated. Amid the mourning, Galit continues to fight for the release of her family - Erez, Sahar and Ofer Calderon.
