Doron and her two daughters, Raz and Aviv, came to visit Doron' mother Efrat and her husband Gadi. When the alarms start, they rush to prepare food for the girls and go into the safe room

Doron is texting her sister Lior and updates that she hears echoes of explosions all the time. Lior is a member of the Kibbutz, but on that Saturday she traveled to visit the family of her husband who lives in central Israel
Doron tells her sister that she hears gunfire in the Kibbutz. Lior asks them to stay in the safe room and lock the door
The Kibbutz's messaging application reports of murdered and kidnapped people. Doron shares with Lior she is fearful for their brother's safety, Ravid Katz. Later it became clear that the fear was justified: Ravid was murdered in the morning during an attempt to protect the inhabitants of the Kibbutz
Lior reads on the Kibbutz's messaging application that residents report terrorists infiltrating their home, and she updates Doron about it. Doron asks Lior not to tell her husband, Yoni yet, so that he does not worry
Efrat updates Lior about wounded people in the Kibbutz and that she fears there are terrorists outside the house
Three and a half hours from the start of the attack, and after passing through a row of nearby houses, the terrorists enter the family home. Gadi sets out to confront them in order to protect his family. The terrorists demand from Gadi money and the car keys
The terrorist squad ransacks the family house without harming Gadi. He returnes to the safe room
Gadi walks out again towards the terrorists, who this time take him with them outside the house. A few minutes later, when Gadi does not return, Efrat decides to leave the safe room to look for him - but he has already been kidnapped to Gaza. Lior tries to get in touch with Doron unsuccessfully
Apparently another squad of terrorists infiltrates the house of the Moses-Katz family and kidnaps Efrat, Doron, Raz and Aviv. The terrorists take them through different houses in the Kibbutz and exit it through a side gate - HaKerem Gate. They are then put together with other people in a cart attached to a tractor and they are all kidnapped to Gaza
Yoni Asher, Doron's husband and father of Raz and Aviv, stayed at their house in the Sharon region. He is constantly trying to get in touch with his family. Yoni is interviewed in numerous media outlets and begs for help: “I am literally asking for someone from the security forces to contact me”
Yoni goes on the air on Kan Reshet Bet and updates that he triangulated the location of Doron's phone and it is found in Khan Younis. Yoni says he fears that Doron, Efrat and the girls have been kidnapped to Gaza. He says he has been unable to contact them for four hours: "I have to get you to spread out the word so I can get in touch with my wife, daughters and mother-in-law".
An IDF helicopter fires at the terrorists. They are killed, but Efrat is wounded by the gunfire and dies of her wounds a short time later. Doron is injured in her back by shrapnel, she holds Efrat and tries to take her with her - unsuccessfully.
Doron runs with the girls in order to escape back to the Kibbutz. Another squad of terrorists arrives in a pickup truck, seizes them and continues on their ride to Gaza
Efrat Katz's family is notified of her death
Lior Katz Natanzon tells about her kidnapped family members and begs to have them returned home
After 49 days in Gaza, Doron, Raz and Aviv return to Israel and meet their family
