Chief warrant officer Roni Abuharon and his wife Shiran woke to sirens, while their 3 kids were sleeping at grandmother's. Roni put on his uniform, took his gun and ran towards the terrorists in the Mishor Hagefen neighborhood. He fell in battle. his brother identified him.

On Friday evening, Roni and Shiran's extended family gathered at the home of Alice Abuharon, Roni's mother. At the end of the evening Roni and Shiran rode their bikes back to their home, planning to return the next day and join the children who stayed to sleep at Grandma's. At 6:30, they wake up to the sounds of the alarms and enter the safe room in their home.

    During unceasing sirens, Roni hears sounds of gunfire in the neighborhood. He calls the police station in Rahat, where he serves, and updates them about what is happening. He decides to get dressed, cock the gun and leave his house to get to the source of the shooting. Shiran, his wife, steps back into the safe room.

      Shiran Abuharon retells the morning of October 7th

      Roni gets into a fight with terrorists wearing IDF uniforms. He notices Rachel Edri coming out of her house towards the public shelter in the street, and warns her of the terrorists. One of the terrorists shoots Roni and he falls and dies. A few minutes after Roni left the house, Shiran hears the gunfire intensifying and tries to call him. She alerts the police and calls his brother, Rafi, a police officer who lives in Beer Sheba. Rafi informs Shiran that he is on his way to Ofakim. Shiran gets anxious, closes the blinds in her house and calls her father.

        Shiran Abuharon revisits moments of horror and anxiety

        Rafi travels to Ofakim to assist in the battle against the terrorists. He arrives in the Mishor Hagefen neighborhood and recognizes Roni's Blundstone shoes. This is how he realizes that his brother has been killed.

          Rafi first arrives at his mother's house to herald Roni's downfall, and then drives to tell Shiran. They drive together to the grandmother's house, where Shiran tells the children about the disaster. On their way, they encounter the pick-up trucks in which the terrorists had traveled earlier, and next to them the many weapons with which the terrorists were equipped
