Upon returning from his birthday celebration in the early morning, Israel and his girlfriend, Shahaf, take a walk in the park with their dog, Marley. They manage to sit down for a short period of time before rockets start falling on the city
The two hear the echoes of many explosions in the Ofakim sky. Then a prolonged sequence of alarms starts in the city
Israel and Shahaf lie on the grass. Shahaf is anxious and Israel wraps her up, lays on top of her and tries to calm her down
Israel, Shahaf and Marley go into a nearby shelter. The buildings in the neighborhood do not have safe rooms and all the tenants gather in the neighborhood shelter
On their way home from the shelter, Israel notices some terrorists on the adjacent street. Israel, who works as a security guard, runs to his home to get his personal pistol which holds 15 bullets. He then runs into the street semi-barefoot - with only one flip flop
Armed civilians who are outside are asking Israel to wear an identification cap, lest he be identified as a Hamas terrorist. Shahaf and his mother, Yashi, beg him to stay at home - without success. Israel asks Yashi to take care of herself and Marley, and goes out to the street
Israel notices some residents left without any protection because the shelter next to their home is locked. Israel breaks the lock of the shelter and lets the residents go inside and take shelter
Israel encounters some terrorists on a nearby street. he fires at them and hinders their advance
As he is only 400 meters from his home, Israel gets shot by the terrorists nearby one of the shelters. Neighbors of Israel said that in the minutes of his fighting, many residents were saved, including from a nearby synagogue where a brith took place that morning in the presence of about 60 people
Yashi begs the cops to update her on her son's condition. During the conversation with them she says: “I know he was murdered.” The cops evade her requests
After a day of uncertainty, Shahaf and Aviva, Israel's sister, walk the route Israel has made to look for evidence of his condition. Shahaf finds Israel's slipper covered with blood. A neighbor who witnessed the incident comes out and tells the girlfriend and the sister what she saw
Authorities officially inform the family that Israel's body has been found. His funeral took place on the same day
